Zuwachs für das Labor: Ein neues Kalorimeter

A new calorimeter Setaram C80 has been ordered and purchased from the funds provided by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (grant no. MA 3927/34-1). This instrument will significantly broaden our capability to measure thermodynamic properties of solids by solution calorimetry. It is a Calvet calorimeter with sample and reference cell and operates in the temperature range between 40 and 300 ºC. At the beginning, this instrument will be primarily used to measure thermodynamic properties of iron oxide minerals doped with critical metals (Sc, In, Ga) but its use is definitely not limited to these materials.
